I actually liked this movie. Yeah, predictable, but it is from 1985! Hello! I guess it just depends on your expectation of a movie as to whether you like it or not.
It was Saturday afternoon and raining when I watched it, and I may not watch it again, but it was good.

Cycling sports, & enthusiasts will like this better than the average movie goer, it's ok, but IMO it could have been made better.
shareI agree it had its problems, but it was a very inspirational movie for our gay communities. It showed us: Yes we can! And that there can be such a thing as true love between men. It doesn't always have to be about *beep* - bonding and male friendship can be as important.
shareUh... I must have missed the "gay" aspect. How about an inspirational movie for anyone. Even those who cannot discern actual bike racing.
If you like cycling, and have raced, or a fan, you will most likely laugh at most of the "race action", as there is very little resembling how the race is actually run... (as it were)
I could get technical, but that might take forever to explain the nuance of the sport.
But I guess a feel-good story with broadly drawn characters and an over-simplistic plot is good now and then....

First of all, I like cycling and I'm a cyclist, but I don't like it. It's badly written, directed, and acted, and doesn't depict professional bicycle racing realistically.
Second: "Yeah, predictable, but it is from 1985! Hello!" What the hell does that mean? You haven't seen many movies from before the present time, have you?
