Muzzin was my favorite character.

I know some claim he actually tried to murder David. I think it was just a cheap shot. David should have known better than to try to upstage a veteran anyway, or he should not have let Muzzin catch up to him again.

Still, I like Muzzin's competitiveness. I liked the way he taunted the Russian. Apparently Russia is a force in bicycling and even Russian cyclists wear beards. I liked the way he strategized. He knew all the "oldest tricks in the book", whatever they were. He was willing to let a rookie ride in his draft to 2nd place. I also thought it was really cool how he walked up to David and said, "Next year!".

From a pure sports perspective, I find Muzzin to be more inspirational than David.

Well if you're a poor sport, I guess that could be true that Peter Weller's character is more of a hero to you than David's.

Then again, somebody who has already won the race several times, is admittedly "half-human", and who tries to push another cyclist off the side of a cliff doesn't really work as the hero character for most people. The aimless, good-natured brother of a dying athlete seems to draw more inspiration for some reason.

That wasn't Peter Weller, dude.

I'm happiest...in the saddle.

Mine too. He was the most human but unfortunately un-mustachioed.

positions one and two in the final miles of a stage race... no race marshal watching these two commit an obvious violation of the rules (no harsh contact)

As someone who has raced and is a fan still.... the Muzzin character was very unrealistic, and wouldn't last in the peleton....

Not a very good movie... period.

for quite a while, i wondered why ted danson used an assumed name for this role.

Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!

I know!!!! Looks like a twin! But I liked the first time they show him and "Bad Moon Risin" plays!! I cracked up!!!!

For a long time Muzzin just seemed like a typical stock villain, though I did enjoy the performance of Luca Bercovici. But thankfully they humanized him a little bit at the end. That is, until he tried to murder David to win.
