Ok I know this isn't, Taxi Driver or Raging Bull, but compared to Casino and The Departed, this and The King of Comedy are easily 2 of the most underrated films of all time. IMO

Agreed. I also think the film requires several views to appreciate its depth and detail.

I agree a very underrated film. I loved this film since I first saw it ten years ago and my appreciation of this film has never waned. I can understand cause Scorsese has directed such brilliant films that its easy to forget this forgotten classic

Agreed.. This film is about as good as it gets.. Classic.. Perfect in every way possible.

i was definately surprised at how good this film is,, i honestly never knew it existed, i bought the Scorcese box set at wal mart, so i was suprised by this little gem.

Oh, I totally agree. I personally think Bringing Out the Dead is another extremely underrated Scorsese film.

that one was something else,, i haven't seen that one in ages, forget scorcese even directed that one.

I agree about the movie being underrated.
This is probably the one Scorsese movie I had heard the least of before I watched it and thought it was one of the lesser movies he'd made. So I was very pleasantly surprised when I watched it. It's so great when you stumble over a gem like this.
