From Eureka! in the UK, on 31 October 2011. Don't know where they got the transfer from but this being Eureka it should be free from digital image manipulation and any pre-menu content, and region-free if they're allowed to (but 'tis as always worth waiting to be sure of this, should it be an issue).
it comes with a huge load of extras, including a commentary! but it will be only Region B, which might be a problem to some DVDFab Region Reset could help, it works like a charm everytime! really looking forward, have placed my order yesterday! cheers folks!:)
No US release. Kind of insulting when you consider that it is the work of an American studio about an American Author.
No, scratch that, what is insulting is the fact that I have purchased this on VHS legally, DVD legally, and am now being pushed to consider piracy as the only available option to finally see this film in higher definition.
Got a kind of "Thanks Hollywood" vibe going on at the moment. I'm sick of separate release dates on all sides of the globe and wonder how long people will have to steal their content in order to watch the same films and TV shows as those elsewhere in the world. Reward for loyalty I suppose.
I can confirm this. I ordered from Amazon UK, it is Region Free, and received it very quickly (within a week). Was 13 pounds UK plus 3.08 shipping making it $26.42 when converted to USD. I will say that I ordered from a Marketplace seller on AmazonUK that was based in the US. You can find this movie on the US Amazon here, but it runs $40:
The disc is region free so I guess your reason for complaining must be that you won't buy imports. Do you think every DVD/blu-ray made outsides of the USA must be some shoddy bootleg or something? That's rich coming from a country that thanks to their somewhat complicated copyright laws has probably the world's largest selection of relatively recent (ie 70's and 80's) movies that are considered public domain...
