Favourite episodes?

In order, not in order, as many as you want to put. My top 5 in order are:-

1) Unholy Alliance - (Second ever episode and first ever encounter between Lion-O and Mumm-ra, and I'm sure a lot would agree it was spine tingling, mouth watering and fantastic. My all time favourite!)

2) Feliner Part 1

3) Safari Joe - (Safari Joe does it again!!)

4) Lion-O's Annointment: First Day -(Had some great drama compared to other episodes)

5) Tower of Traps

the shadowmaster. loved seeing lion with his father and then with jaga

the last day was an awesome episode when mummra has the super powers and until sundown to defeat all the thundercats, and snarf goes into the book of thundera..

the telepathy beam was great when vultureman and alluro were screwing with cheetara's sixth sence then she fought back with her mind..

return of the thundercubs

Ones I hated were leah frogman, and the well of doubt, two times started getting stupid

Loved the last episode when he fights mummra and pyron inside the book of omens to restore thundera to it's natural days

was my favorite cartoon ever

another one I really loved was The Keystone.. Really showed how drugs can affect someone's personality and how dependant you can become on it.. Just a great message, not eating, over confidence, paranoia(thinking lynxo n liono were lunataks,, plus getting your energy from the drug instead of eating, and the weight loss.. "The Heritage" also showed this too how dependant you can become on something and put others in danger for your own needs..

The second half of return to thundera had some pretty horrible episodes

Leah
frogman
screwloose
malcar
later well of doubt

near the end the episodes were getting tacky..

I missed just having the originals and the thundertank

My top favs. from Season #1 are :

1) The Tower of Traps,
2) The Doomgaze,
3) Sixth Sense,
4) Safari Joe,
5) Feliner - Part 1 and Part 2, I love little Snarfer! :3
6) Dimension Doom,
7) Tight Squeeze, I thought the ending was funny with the WilyKits torturing Snarf with "No more Candy-Fruit..." after he (Snarf) said he's going to diet,

8) Out of Sight, I just love the part where Tygra picks up a decorative skull and spooks Jackalman by making him believe a ghost will haunt them until they release Willa, and...

9) The Trouble with Thunderkittens

And my top favs. from Season #2 are :

1) Psych Out, I thought it was funny that Snarf takes on Alluro alone,
2) Time Switch, Lion-O looks cute little,
3) Side Swipe,
4) Runaways,
5) Thundercubs - Parts 1-5, I thought the beginning of part #1 has a good look at Thundera's past and how the planet was destroyed. I don't blame Jaga for Thundera's destruction, mind you; he didn't know Ratilla’s Sword of Plun-Darr's powers could not be subdued; and also I thought Snarf and Snarfer look ubber cute as little Snarf-lings,

6) The Totem Of Dera, little Snarfer came through in this episode (three cheers for Snarfer: Hip-Hip-Hooray! Hip-Hip-Hooray! Hip-Hip-Hooray!); it's too bad they couldn't retrieve the Totem from Mumm-Ra before the poisonous waters hit to get rid of that blob monster,

7) The Circus Train, now THAT was a laugh riot for me this episode,
8) Return to Thundera - Parts 1-5,
9) Leah,
10) The Well of Doubt, and...
11) The Book of Omens, now here is something I'd thought of: If the Baleful Swamp is now on New Thundera, and the swamp is now a beautiful lake, the ThunderCats could find the Totem of Dera easily; I know that sounds stupid huh?

Difficult for me to pick specific favourites, but I do like "Divide And Conquer" - because it's more mixed in the field of who rescues who. Tygra and the Thunderkittens are able to get themselves out of their predicaments, while Panthro and Cheetara need rescuing. It's also not all down to Lion-O either, it's Tygra who rescues Cheetara, Lion-O's only involvement is in the rescue of Panthro. It makes a nice change from the usual format where Lion-O either has to rescue everybody, or else calls out the summoning cry and they all magically burst free of whatever is holding them - notable execptions here being Mongor and Safari Joe, where summoning them doesn't work.

I love what safari joe did to cheetara and tygra. He made tygra look so bad, to bad tygra did not turn invisble? I still think joe would of beat him anyway. Also love the way cheetara hanging in the air, she can't get free. That was a great trap for her .

reply

Nah, if Tygra had turned invisible, he'd have kicked Safari Joe's Londonderry Air. It's because they needed the final showdown to be with Lion-O. It's the same in "The Mumm-Ra Berbil". We already know, from "Pum-Ra", that Mumm-Ra can't see Tygra when he's invisible. So when the writers need Tygra to be captured by someone who can't see him invisible, they don't have him turn invisible because the demands of the story meant Lion-O had to have the final showdown with the villain of the day. Which meant Tygra, Cheetara and Panthro would all be captured with relative ease, but like as not magically break free of their bonds whenever Lion-O summoned them, which I always found a little dodgy - hence, Kudos to "Mongor" and "Safari Joe", where he calls them and they don't suddenly manage to escape.

As for favourite episodes, I've already mentioned "Divide And Conquer", because it too dispenses with the rulebook, (Tygra and the Kittens rescue themselves, Tygra rescues Cheetara, then they all help Lion-O to rescue Panthro, instead of the normal predictable format mentioned above), but I must also single "Snarf Takes Up The Challenge" for special praise, because it makes me well up inside, when Snarf is wondering how he can possibly rescue the other Thundercats, because he doesn't have any of their special skills. Anything that can get that reaction from me has to be pretty special.

Even if tygra turn invisble against joe he can't used his whip because its around him which makes tygra invisble but your right about it had to be lion-o to beat joe. But than again tygra turn invisble against morgor and morgor still beat him. I always wanted to see if tygra could beat lynxana the bountry hunter in a one on one fight

reply

Exactly - because of the Lion-O-centric nature of the episode format, when they need all the other Thundercats to be captured/whatever, Tygra only turns invisible against people who can still see him. I think with Mongor, it's harder to say, could Mongor actually see him? Tygra turned invisible and Mongor just engulfed the area in smoke, a weapon that would work even on someone invisible. When it cleared, Tygra was tied up by his own whip.

As for against Safari Joe, if he was invisible, he wouldn't need to use his whip, he could have simply stolen Joe's gun right out of his hands and attacked him with his own weapon!
