Was it any good?

I'm a big 80's tv show fan, loving the A-team, knight rider etc etc. I have never actually seen Street Hawk and my curiosity is beginning to get the better of me, especially with the complete series being recently released here in the UK.

But I am one of those people who likes to get value for money for my hard earned cash, so I guess my question is, is it worth buyin? I mean was the series any good? after all it only lasted one season and that makes me weary as was it the fact that it didnt do too well!??!

Street hawk fans please help me make a decision!

Thanks.

yes it was very good in my opinon the reason why it just got 1 series was cause they wanted something else on that time slot at that certain time and wanted something new even though had high viewing figures they done that with a few other tv series that was meant to go for another 2 seasons.Like dark angel got 2 seasons was meant to have 3 or 4 but NBC wanted a different show on bollox to them!

I heard TV producers have been "mining" the past to get ideas for new shows. The track record for "reincarnated" shows have been spotty. For every success like the 80's Twilight Zone and Battlestar Galactica, we get a bunch of flops like Fantasy Island (good show BTW), Bionic Woman, and Knight Rider. The reincarnated Human Target has been renewed for a 2nd season though. Now they're gonna offer a new version of Hawaii 5-0.

So for Street Hawk, who knows...all we can do is hope.

hey what am I missing something?Bionic woman wasn't a flop lasted 3 seasons+KNight Rider 4 seasons+Fantasy Island ran for 7 seasons unless you didn't explain that right?

He was talking about the remakes (reboots) of those TV shows. Bionic Woman (2007), Knight Rider (2008) and Fantasy Island (1998) They all lasted one season each and were crapola.

HudsonsSkull Oh I see, even still their has been some shows that weren't mini series that lasted for 1 season and was quite good with a resolved ending.I know a'lot of ones that get cancelled do end on a massive cliffhanger that is annoying

reply

Most series end on a cliffhanger expecting they will get picked up for a second season but it does not happen and we are left with an unfinished story. TV shows should have a story arc that concludes in one season so it could leave a sense of closure at least for the fans who were interested in the show, even if it is cancelled.

They could at least give a failed TV show a 2 hour TV movie the following year to end the show so the fans can at least have a sense of closure. Joss Whedon was lucky enough to get a feature film (Serenity) to end the story of Firefly. The movie was not a huge success because not everyone was familiar with the characters since the TV show did not last very long, but at least it ended the story in a convenient way for the fans.

yea most not all in today's series but less would get cancelled back in the day,+ yea Serenity was quite good,I heard for years after the cliffhanger of Heroes season 4 that Tim Kring would have the show have closure in a mini series and that he would work on a script but nothing has happened which is annoying.Where you from HudsonsSkull

The Quebec province of Canada.

Yeah, I also heard about that. Heroes started off good but it went downhill fast, the show had potential but I thought it was a little too much like the X-Men. Alphas was another half decent show that had the X-Men vibe and didn't last either. Maybe they're trying too hard to be something they're not.

Agents of SHIELD is pretty good, it ties into the movies without trying to mimic them.

it was good.

now i am older i cannot believe the motorbike was a small cc dirtbike.

it held pretty big ideas in my mind when i was a child, as outragous performance.

I think the new Robocop film had some of the ideas of street hawk, with the bike in there.

It should be remade, especially as cars now drive themselves, its seem logical to have this hyper speed bike brought into 2016

This show had some edge over knight rider, its was more dangerous and edgy.

Knight rider was a loner with a car on long flirting marathons, with modern Artificial Inteligence and some ridiculous rescue.

A-team was fun and action and a bit silly.

If Street Hawk was remade, it should be done like the Firefox film with clint eastwood.

Where modern tech is stolen for political reasons and giving street hawk some serious challenge. Scrap the junk comedy and keep it serious like Firefox (1982).

Chuck in some Formula one cars, a Bugatti Veyron, Jet planes, etc in there with tons of action some fit girls and its works.

Obvious chuck in a nasty twist and its done
