I just recently copied five episodes onto DVD for a friend. If you like at the cost of the materials about $2 and shipping which I'm guessing to be about the same I could make you a copy of those same 5 episodes for him. Drop me a line [email protected] and I'll see what I can do for you.

I did not see any of the old shows. I became a Parker fan about 10 years ago. I saw my first Urlich/Spencer last night and thought he did it better then the other attempts I saw. Much better. I would love to see the old series, all 66 of them, plus the 4 movies. If all you have are 5 episodes, then five it will be. I'll email you right away with the particulars.

To traveller004- I am trying to get some episodes of Spencer for Hire. Can you still copy to DVD? Thanks

reply

Would it be possible to have you make a DVD (whatever it takes) of the episodes that you have? I am constantly searching for the show since I thought it one of the better written ones. I loved the interaction between Spenser and Susan Silverman. Of course, Avery Brooks was great.

To: traveller004,

I have been searching everywhere to get copies of Robert Urich's Spensor for Hire series. My Mother is 82 and absolutly loves him. If you can still make copies, I'd be very happy to buy them. I wish they'd print all three seasons. If you have any more information on other episodes, please let me know.

Sincerely, (Your help is much appreciated!)

Spenser for Hire
I am looking for a copy of Episode # 2-10 (or #33) titled "The Hopes and Fears".

I would pay to have a good copy of the episode. I have all of the others on VCR and I am copying them all to DVD.

Thank you,

reply

Were you able to (1) get the missing episode, and, (2) copy all of the other episodes onto DVD?

reply

I have all 66 episodes of Spenser For Hire, plus 3 movies with Robert Urich and
1 movie with Joe Montego. The only movie I don't have is A Savage Place. My copies were recorded off Lifetime. The ones with commercials still in are better videos.

To any and all who have inquired "Do I still have episodes of "Spenser: For Hire," Yes, I still have 5 good episodes and 51 of the 56 episodes of the series that are in awful condition. I am looking for good, excellent or pristine copies of the series to put onto DVD. If anyone out there has a VHS copy of any of the episodes of the series and wants them put to DVD, please contact me and I will put them onto DVD for you at cost of materials if they are indeed good, excellent or pristine. Otherwise I can still produce three of the four made for TV movies. One has station ID stuff in it but the other two are pristine as if straight from the factory. I have the pilot movie of the series it's in fair to good condition and episodes 2-6 are in very good condition. The remainder are in fair to poor condition as I have mentioned.

Thanks to all and please contact me if you are seeking episodes of this series. Perhaps I can help more Spenser fans to get the series in DVD since it has never been produced in that format.

Take it easy and looking forward to hearing from you all.

I would love to have those 4 or 5 good episodes on DVD. Please advise.

If you go to tvshowsondvd.com and check for news releases, you'll find a press release about the Spenser movies that were made for Lifetime, coming out this summer!

A box set with the 4 made-for-tv movies was released on 6/28/05. Retailing for 59.99, this is hopefully a precursor to a release of the series, though I can't confirm that. The movies in the set are "Ceremony", "Pale Kings and Princes", "Judas Goat", and "A Savage Place". The versions in the set are unrated, and are a bit racier than what you saw on TV. Hope this is helpful to some of you.

Hey, man; I would LOVE to have a DVD of anything Spenser 4 Hire. I loved that show and still think Robert Urich was one of the best actors of recent time. He died in April 2002 of cancer. Please contact me on how to purchase the dvd(s) you have available. [email protected]

I have just noticed a selection of Spenser for Hire episodes available on e-bay at 2 per disk. I have no idea of the source of these but they look at least semi-official (Professional covers). Can anybody else throw any light on the source of these releases?

I've just found the complete series on DTD available on https://www.dvdcraze.tv for $199.99. I don't know what quality they are but the whole series is sold in one package.

reply

No bargain. Warner Archive now has it out, and there are ebay sellers selling all 3 seasons for less than 50 bucks total (compared to the list price of 30 to 40 per).
