'Apollo 18' ?

..........Apollo 18, in this miniseries is of course fictional. The last moon landing was Apollo 17...........I was thinking about this miniseries when I was watching the trailer for "Apollo 18"; a supposedly true (?) account containing unaltered secret footage of the last moon shot. This time out the astronauts come to a bad end at the hands (or claws or tentacles) of a moon monster. All this explains why we've never go back to the moon. Weird.

The Apollo-Soyuz joint mission is sometimes called Apollo 18.

That was an unbelievable waste of a Saturn V when they could have used a much smaller rocket. They could have used that one to boost Skylab.

Apollo 18 aka Apollo-Soyuz's US launch was done by a Saturn IB not a Saturn V.

Yes, of course. They still might have used it to boost Skylab, but I see there was one more left over and they didn't use it either. If it could lift a CSM to Skylab then it must have been able to lift a booster module made for the purpose.
