Something so simple I missed many times

So, I am watching the series (on Netflix now btw!) with my daughter (late teens). She is really digging the series (we are almost done with the Macross portion).

She always commented how cool the sound of the Zentradai voices have that echo factor going on. I always liked that too.

I commented to her how their voices didn't echo when they became micronians, except a few times, where they probably just made some editing errors. And then she blew my mind. After watching this full series half a dozen times...

She says that no, it isn't a Micronian vs. full size thing. When their voice is echoing, they are speaking Zentradai! When they aren't echoing, they are speaking English.

How did I miss that?! You can especially see this in the Force of Arms episode when Breetai and Exodor are talking, when Exodor is on the SDF-1. At one point he and Breetai are talking, and Exodor echos, then turns to the humans and speaks to them...no echo.

Not sure if they did something similar in the original Japanese series, but that is a fantastic detail.


I hate IMDB's Signature policy...
