What happened to the zentradi?
Did they leave earth before the Robotech Masters invaded?

Micronized Zentraedi Miriya, Breetai and Exedore joined the SDF-3's expedition to the Robotech Masters' home world in the aborted series Robotech II: The Sentinels. In Robotech: The New Generation, Scott said "I couldn't care less if the Invid survive or go the way of the Zentraedi." in response to Rand's comments about how the Invid were facing extinction. That implied that there were no Zentraedi left on Earth by that time. Perhaps they were killed during the Robotech Wars or assimilated into the human population.
shareI always took it as the Zentradi were all micronized by the time Southern Cross took place. It's also possible they mated with humans like Miria and Max did to produce Dana. I know Max had blue hair and wasn't a Zentradi but there were lots more characters with wild hair color that the Zentradi typically had as a characteristic.
Ultimately Scott's comment still makes sense as technically the Zentradi were fully integrated into human society and were effectively extinct.
Agreed, they were most probably integrated after their militant comrades flew a spaceship into the SD-F2 killing more humans again. To avoid prejudice afterwards they probably felt it best not to stand out if they had any hope of staying on earth peacefully after that.
