Liz or Diedre

who would have picked (in tearms of being Pleasent) in that repect I'd pick Diedre

If I understand your question, I'd say Diedre. At least you know what you're working with there. Liz was a bit deceitful and sneaky and lied about how she really felt. If Diedre has a problem with you, she'll tell you up front and not stab you in the back or say stuff about you behind your back and fake politeness to your face.

I think Deidre's bluntness was what Maggie didn't like about her. I care to suggest that Deidre probably told Arthur that he needs to put Maggie in a home and live his own life, and Maggie wants to do anything to keep Arthur near her.

That is why she still wants Arthur to find a nice woman, as long as it isn't Deidre.

Whereas Liz sucks up to Maggie more, and acts like she is nice to her. Also, she is Robbie's wife, and he is her favourite.

Liz was a complex, somewhat neurotic and insecure character whereas Deidre (while she definitely had her eccentricities) seemed a lot more straightforward. I liked them both equally though

Liz was the kind of woman many older men would say was desperately in need of a spanking.
