Exactly. If it's bad, it will do itself in. I hope it's good, and even if it's not great at the start, it can always improve, like many TV shows in the past. Star Trek TNG was campy as fvck in the first season but went on to become one of the greatest sci-fi shows ever.
shareI'm a big ST fan and DS9 is my favorite but ST wouldn't survive today like ENT didn't survive past 4 seasons. ST improved dramatically as the seasons went but the first seasons were usually just finding it's feet. TNG is the perfect example of that.

Right. Shows need to be given a chance to ease into things, for the actors to develop chemistry, to feel less manufactured. For example, on Supergirl, Hank Henshaw as Martian Manhunter wasn't a preconceived idea, it just happened organically.
