Every quote about a movie that Larry has seen indicates it's the best he's ever seen.
How reliable is that?

Well. obviously the movies he praises he liked them.
From the movies he has seen but doesn't promote them by having actors from them in the studio --- some he also liked and some he didn't.
I don't have any reasons to doubt him. He doesn't strike me as a guy who would say he enjoyed a movie when in reality he didn't.
