I wish Winston and Pele were in more episodes and why did he leave

I think they were good characters and wishere in more of them

Winston left because the actor got a part in the Bill.

Its that man again!!

Winston was actually written out of the show following complaints to the BBC about racist language.

But Winston was replaced by another black character!

Eamonn Walker's IMDB profile rather dovetails neatly with him leaving In Sickness and going to the Bill and I recall that he mentioned that he wanted to so something different and the Bill was more work as it went twice weekly.

Its that man again!!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Winston was written out due to complaints over racism but I could be wrong and I also thought if that was the case, why replace him with another black character? If I remember rightly, Pele was only in a couple of episodes and Alf didn't seem to be as racist to him, mind you he was still using the word "sambo" as late as the 1992 episodes.

Alf had mellowed with.age. Pele seemed a nice bloke.
