Awesome Theme Song

One of my best memories of Gummi Bears is the theme song. It has to be one of the catchiest cartoon themes I've ever heard.

Who's with me?

reply

You can count me in. Right up there with Supergran, Johnny Briggs, and The Wuzzles.

Supergran and Johnny Briggs??

reply

I definetly agree... A lot of my friends have the theme song i both Russian, English, Swedish and (of course) Danish... It's great in either language...

reply

That's what I remember, too! I don't remember a whole lot about the show besides the song, that their outfits reminded me of peter pan, and that they lived in a tree. But I remember absolutely loving it!

does anybody know if they are planning to bring the show out on dvd. i'd like that. that would make my year.
greatest kids show ever.

At this point the episodes have not legitimatly been released. There are a bunch of DVD's on ebay but they are all bootlegs......... Disney should be releasing them soon. There is actually a petition floating around 'the net' somewhere which is trying to encourage the process.

absolutely fantastic theme song.

reply

I'm humming it right now lol.

This thread has been going on for 7 years...pretty cool.

reply

Does anyone happen to know WHO sang it?

I could probably find out eventually if I searched the web tenaciously enough, but I just don't feel like it. :)

And yes, I also agree, I wish more cartoons had theme songs this well composed.

Although not nearly as well sung or composed, another old favorite cartoon theme song of mine was Animaniacs.

Edit: Fine, I looked it up myself...

Ok I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is Michael Silversher. A little-known singer with a good voice and range in the Gummi Bears theme, but on his album, he tires to sound like a lame version of Beck...ugh what a waste...

Wait a sec...if that's the case, then Beck is a BETTER version of HIM, I dunno, I supposed it would depend on who released their album first.

reply

The IMDB site says that the theme song singer is a Gene Miller because I was wondering that myself. I looked up his history and he hasn't done much else. He sang another theme song and was a backup singer in a few movies but thats it.

For those who like the theme song the Suburban Legends did a ska version of it. You can probally find it on most filesharing services. Enjoy.

I was going to post that, but you got to it first. I heard this version first, since I am a SL fan. I'm sure I've heard the original before, when I was little, but I found the original and compared it to the Suburban Legends' version, and well... SL RULES! ;)

Oh my god! I was a huge fan!! I would turn the TV on 5minutes before it started so that i wouldnt miss the tune!!
God, i was a sad child. I've only just remembered my obsession with this show!

Dude, this show was awesome! People keep suggesting bringing it out on DVD, but i'm wondering if maybe it would be a good idea to bring it back to TV alltogether? I mean, they seem to be doing that with a lot of other cartoons. They bring them back on from time to time. I think it would be good to see if maybe it would do well if brought back. Then again, I dont remember much about the show other than what everyone else rmembers-- the song. I can still hum the tune to this day. I also vaguely remember them living in a tree, and that the kids can drink gummi berry juice too but it only works once a day for them. Heehee ^.^ I remember when i was reeeeeeeally little, whenever the ice cream truck came around, i would get those snow cones, ye know, the ones where all the juice sunk to the bottom and just left you with a ball of ice?, eat all the ice up, then drink down the stuff in the bottom, pretending it was Gummi Berry Juice. I would jump all over my grandma's front yard. heheh, i was a handful as a kid ^.^ The show was awesome, and i, along with it seems everyone else here, would like to get a hold of some DVD's so that when I'm old enough and have kids of my own (I'm only 18. No kids for me just yet!) i can share this show with them. Hopefully they'll enjoy it as much as I did.

I absolutely loved the Gummi Bears when I was growing up and recorded it faithfully. Recently I was going through a bunch of things left over from my grandmothers passing and discovered a hidden trove of things that she saved from my childhood but the biggest and happiest was my collection of Gummi Bear episodes. The same ones that we watched together when I was a kid. Now I am an adult with kids of my own. I've been sharing this wonderful cartoon with my 2 little boys and daugther and they all absolutely love it as much as I did. I'm currently archiving these episodes so that I don't lose them because of the tapes going bad. I have to say that this would be an awesome thing for Disney to put on DVD. A lot better than some of the garbage that they've been producing lately. Why can't they produce stuff like this now?

By the way the them song is awesome but you only put a small part of it. The song was considerably longer so I have put up the rest of it.

Dashing and daring,
Courageous and caring,
Faithful and friendly,
With stories to share.
All the through the forest,
They sing out in chorus,
Marching along,
As their song fills the air.

Gummi Bears,
Bouncing here and there and everywhere.
High adventure that's beyond compare,
They are the Gummi Bears.

Magic and Mystery or part of their history,
Along with the secret of Gummi Berry Juice,
The legend is growing,
They take pride in knowing,
The fight for what's right in whatever they do.

Gummi Bears,
Bouncing here and there and everywhere.
High adventure that's beyond compare,
They are the Gummi Bears. They are the Gummi Bears.

Dashing and daring,
Courageous and caring,
Faithful and friendly,
With stories to share.
All the through the forest,
They sing out in chorus,
Marching along,
As their song fills the air.

Gummi Bears,
Bouncing here and there and everywhere.
High adventure that's beyond compare,
They are the Gummi Bears.

Oh Oh Oh, Gummi Bears,
When a friends in danger they'll be there,
Lives and legends that we all can share,
They are the Gummi Bears, They are the Gummi Bears, They are the Gummi Bears.

This show has a great theme song and I really like it. Too bad I don't remember much of the show itself (used to watch it when it still aired in my country).

Favorite theme song of mine is TaleSpin's however, the one from Duck Tales being a close 2nd.

I'm really surprised that no one mentioned Rockapella's cover of this theme song. It's good and funny. In the background they're singing 'boing boing'. It's funnier if you hear it.

You can download from iTunes (where I got my copy). I don't know what cd it's on.

oh, and it's the full version, btw. not the tv size.
