Was there ever a kid named boner? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well the character's birth name is actually Richard Stabone and during the episode where they graduated high school Mike was astonished that he had the school put "Boner" on the diploma and told him that it was time to grow up and go by Richard or (and I can't stress enough that I'm not making this up), Dick. So Mike suggested that he go from Boner to plain ol' Dick.

Another thing that's kind of funny is that Boner's father's name is Sylvester. While he was never seen, he was mentioned at least once. Sylvester Stabone.

I was watching the first few episodes today and the name is kinda explained in the episode he’s first introduced. Mike and two friends are talking in a school hallway. The character we know as Boner says something and another guy hits him saying “bonehead”. Then Mike and the other guy talk awhile and Mike turns and call the other guy Boner. They think he’s stupid aka bonehead.
