Season 7, Episode 16, The Commitments

Blanche starts seeing Jerry. At the end of the episode, Jerry tells Blanche he wants a romance relationship with Blanche. How come after that episode for the rest of Season 7, we never hear or see Jerry? It would have been cool to have seen the romance between them continue during the rest of Season 7 since the show was ending. Would have been cool to have seen Blanche marry Jerry on the last episode just like Dorothy getting married to Blanche's Uncle Lucas.
