Canadian Content

I never realized how Canadian that this show was. Eric Peterson (currently starring in the hillarious Corner Gas, in Canada) was the voice of Teebo. And Sarah Polley's (she was in Road to Avonlea and this year's Dawn of the Dead) mom had a voice too. To me, this show was a distant memory when I was a kid and coming back to see how much Canadian content was in this show just makes me proud. It shouldn't surprise me though. We have lots of great animation in our country.

One of the reasons for the Canadian content was that Nelvana animation, a Canadian company, was involved in the production.

Don't forget that Halifax comedian Ron James was the voice for Mring Mring the Gupin, and Jackie Burroughs (AKA Aunt Hetty from Road to Avonlea) was the voice for Morag, the evil Tulgah witch!

George Buza was the voice of Chief Chirpa. He can later be seen in CAnadian shows like Maniac Mansion and The Adventures Of Sinbad.

A host of Canadian cartoon voices were spread throughout both Ewoks and Droids. Alyson Court did the voice of Malani, but her voice is probably best remembered as that of Lydia in the cartoon "Beetlejuice," and before that she was the sister Jill on "My Pet Monster."

Jackie Burroughs was unmistakable as the Tulgah Witch Morag, and of course she's been in more Canadian film and television that most people realize.

Add in there a smattering of voices from other Nelvana productions like "Care Bears."

Interesting.
