Quentin Crisp, the Ultimate Guest Actor!

I just finished watching Season 2, on DVD, much of which I hadn't seen (I was in college and couldn't always catch the show). Part of the fun rewatching the show is seeing so many great actors before they were known, as well as some of the guest stars who were known. Well, lo and behold, I just saw the episode with Quentin Crisp and my jaw hit the floor. I knew he had appeared in several things (particularly Orlando, with Tilda Swinton) but I had no idea he had done The Equalaizer. His few scenes with Edward Woodward were great; looked like they were really having fun.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!

It's very cool to spot actors who are famous now in such minor roles or even blending into the background. Seeing the warden from Shawshank as an automobile executive at Christine Baranski's house party in the episode about the martial arts obsessed cocaine dealer. David Alan Grier in a speaking background shot as a police desk sargeant.

I love seeing the actors who end up in David Simon shows on there. Jon Polito (Homicide) in the episode with the Northern Exposure actor playing a sleazy murderous executive. One of the cops in 'Beyond Control' was recently in that Simon series 'Treme' as a wealthy New Orleans banker.
