Why two entries on imdb?

I'm new to this series, and from Wikipedia it looks like there was one Dragon Ball TV series with 153 episodes.

This and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280249/ are both "Dragon Ball" series from 1986.

I think they should be combined.

It's the same problem with the "Dragon Ball Z" series, 2 entries for 1 show.

Hello:

There are 2 entries for each series because the original japanese broadcast was heavily cut in the english version, and some other changes were made.
In this cases, IMDb encourages to have two separate entries, one for the original release and other for the USA release.

When I started contributing for the japanese animation, I noticed the same as you, and senior contributors explained to me the reason: In this case, the USA release had fewer episodes and even the episodes' names are different. So with a northamerican contributor we decided to "fix" the Dragon Ball / Dragon Ball Z tittle pages, this containing the japanese original information of Dragon Ball and this Dragon Ball Z: Doragon bôru zetto (1989) for japanese DBZ, and this for the USA release of Dragon Ball (1986) (I know the release year need to be corrected) and this for the USA release of Dragon Ball Z (1996).
It is confusing I know, I felt the same way, but we are working hard to organize all the title pages related to the Dragon Ball series, correcting the mistakes and updating the missing info.

I hope this helps!

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language IMDb = Catch-22
