Why does he sound like an American? The actor, David Jason who voices him are British. Nanny and Igor are British, strange that Duckula isn`t.

David is British while he just disguised his accent.

"There was no way i'm walking around this place with my dork hanging out"-Heavy Metal.

Nanny and Igor have British accents but are technically Transylvanian.

Originally (in the Danger Mouse cartoon) the character was a parody of Daffy Duck.

The show was also co-produced by Nickelodeon, so I guess it makes sense to keep the main character's American accent.
