Atmospheric, wrings the last drop of sentiment out of the text, flawlessly acted, cast by a casting genius, comical and heartbreaking in turn, lit like a Rembrandt, compelling.

It was very good. Of course, I'm a sucker for anything that has Denholm Elliott in it. I would have liked to see more of the Bagnets, who were favorites of mine from the book, but Dickens' stories are so densely packed with interesting characters that someone is going to get cut.

Brilliant, yes. I would have wished for a camera that didn't breathe down everybody's necks in the London scenes, esp. tracking Jo, but that's a small point.
