i don't think there are to many blacks. there are 3. there are about six whites. they probably did it to make it politicly correct.

"Come with me if you want to live!"

reply

So every time there is a show that doesn't only have one race it's about political correctness? What an idiot.

reply

I don't think it was stereotypical, I think it was the early 90's lol

reply

The hiphop and diva thing are kind of a stereotype but it wasn't like "look at the funny black people," everyone on the show was equally goofy. Also they were actual characters with personality instead of just tokens.

reply

That's true. I mean, the diva thing may be a stereotype, but the hiphop Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were a total product of the early 90s. Robin Hood: Men in Tights comes to mind.

reply

What the hell? racist? lol. only on imdb. a.k.a the internet.

reply

Geez, the black chick was the queen of wonderland, what more could have been done to make it unracist, make her the queen of the world? Not to mention, actually, there was the black red queen, two black tweedles, one white alice, one white hatter man and the rest were animals. So there you go.

reply

I don't think it was racist, but the presentation of the black characters wasn't always well written. Instead of making them seem strange like everyone else, it felt like they were just resorting to using racial stereotyping as humor, particularly with the Tweedles. That's funny when you're mature enough to see the irony of it, but this was intended for fairly young children, and as such, the writers probably could have been a little smarter about the presentation of those characters. That said, as always, it's up to the parents to teach their kids about racism, not television, and most of it was pretty innocent. At least they made some effort to have non-traditional casting, which is more than I can say about most Disney shows in the 90s.

I dont see how it was racist. It is not as offensive as some commercials and other things in the media right now.Which is bad cause now you think people would know better but do it anyway for a cheap laugh.Like someone said everyone was goofy.I tell ya this show was and is a lot better than the garbage they have on Disney and Nickelodeon now. This and Nick shows like Pete and Pete beats Hannah Montana and Icarly by a long shot.
