TV Remake?

I read somewhere in the autumn that the producers of The Bible were planning something along the lines of a remake of this series to follow the earlier biblical epic. It was supposed to be called "A.D." and would cover roughly the same time span, from the resurrection to the 70s, after the fire of Rome, Nero's persecution and (perhaps) the destruction of the second temple, and allegedely it would focus not just on the troubles with Rome but also on the varying responses of Jews and early Christians (many of whom had been Jews, of course, and some of whom even continued to see themselves as Jews for some time).

Now it looks like Roma Downey, at least, has been doing a follow-up about the life of Jesus instead, though that had already been treated in The Bible. Doing A.D. looked more logical and somewhat more interesting than one more Jesus miniseries. Anyone heard more about this?
