Flawed film but still needs a wider audience


Not one of Herzogs' masterpieces in my opinion, due mostly to budget perhaps. There were a few cliche/stereotypes that could have been approached better - e.g frenzied racist 'miner' and the half-caste alcoholic with Fosters (who drinks that really?) in his hand... not very subtle.
Nonetheless, more media attention needs to analyse this subject without the polar extremes of emotion and perspective. I think Herzog did due an apt job of portraying this at least.
Overall wasn't as affecting as many of his other work but should be shown to more people - probably did the rounds of some high schools I hope?
