Favorite and least Favorite Characters.

Favorite would have to be Jim and Tony, they younger brother and sidekick.

They seem so disconnected from the rest of society, and Jim has a cool "I don't give a sh*t attitude. Plus the buildup about meeting Charlie, whose brief role is played brilliantly by Quaid.

Least Favorite is Tom. What a tool he was. He gets Bill kicked out of his apartment, gets his GF almost fired, and has the worst line ever in a movie, "It's Casual." WTF is that?

Ive never heard "It's casual" from anybody until I saw this movie and thought it was cool for Chris's character since he seemed totally laid back in the movie, at least it was a vacation from the usual "No problem"...Probably Bill & Jim's mother was my least favorite character because of her annoying voice and mannerisms throughout the movie -

My favorite character was also Jim for being a misunderstood rebel which was close to who I was in high school with no older brother to look up to...at the very least I related to him more than any other character in the movie.

All of them are great, but I'd have to go with Tomas Drake and Jim.
A close 3rd goes to the guy from Scarface, with the best line of the movie...
"Its as big as my apartment"

I love Jim since that was pretty much me in the 80s, long hair, stoned, smoked Marlboros and heavily into Apocalypse Now.

Bill I thought was good, and carried the main plot, which is a thankless role, kinda.

I like Tom because I think Chris Penn is awesome. He is an unapologetic jerk but that's his character.

The character I felt was most pointless was Lea Thompson.

I enjoyed them all...they all were different and just some fun characters.

When bill 1st moves in. The landlord is like I'm moving you to different apartment.
The deposit is slightly higher.

Responsible bill is like well I would like to see it first.

Opens a door to a mess of a room

And bill says...i love it or it's perfect.

Funny stuff

He wasn't a main character but Rick moranis character was funny in a weird way.

I related to Bill's character the most. I didn't party much in high school and was pretty responsible and mature for my age just like him. The character I disliked the most was the Army/Navy store shopkeeper with the nasaly voice and how he lied to Bill's brother just to make a sale.
