Universal "Vault" Series?

I just bought the Universal "Vault" Series DVD from Amazon. It will not play in any of my DVD players. It says on the back of the DVD that this DVD is expected to play back in DVD video "play only" devices. And may not play back in other DVD devices, including recorders and PC drives.

You can not see these details on Amazon, and yes my DVD players are recorders. My questions are, is there another DVD available that will play on my players? And the other question is why would they do this its not like I could copy the DVD on my player, its only for recording off the TV.

Amazon seems to think they can send me a new that will work, but from there site it looks like they are all the Vault series.

Also in the order I got the Wild life in I purchased another 80's movie "Reckless" which was from the Warner Bros Collection and it says the same thing on the back but it works in all my players and PC.

Is there something I should look for when buying these online when you can't see everything about the DVD?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Although there's probably a good chance no one will see this before IMDB shuts this down. Which sucks.
