1996 Fox Lorber VHS?

Since this intriguing film isn't available on Region 1 DVD, I purchased it on VHS as the price was right ($7.96 [U.S.] + shipping). Just wondering if anyone else has this same release and, if so, have you noticed what I did: what sounds like Spanish-language (of perhaps another film?) faintly running in the background on the audio track? The copy I purchased is new (i.e. original shrink-wrap, never before opened or played) and, in fact, has the details of the film etched on to the cassette itself (in other words, no chance that it could be another film that was recorded-over, then remarked with a new sticker). It wasn't enough to ruin watching "Vigil" although it was somewhat annoying. Most of all, just odd.
