This looks incredible and I would buy this in a second digitally or on disc. Why hasn't it been available worldwide yet?

As I understand it, it is a German-American co-production. There may be some kind of rights agreement in place which forbids the German version from being sold in markets outside of the agreement.
shareYou’d have to think a remaster of the US theatrical version would happen though. It’s one of the most iconic kids movies of the 80s that still has a following today.
