"Blueghost" is right in what he replied. And it was nice of you to come back and acknowledge that someone gave an answer to your question. Oh. You didn't. How polite.
Anyway yeah, the "blue gate" as you call it, isn't a gate. It's the Southern Oracle (the thing he was seeking to find answers). It told him what he wanted to know, and he had no need to pass through it.
The reason he "ran away" screaming for Falcor, is not because he was running away from anything. He now had the information he needed, and time was running out, so he was in a hurry to complete his quest.
I suggest you rewatch the movie. I'm not being mean. It's a great movie, and you obviously didn't understand parts of it (if you didn't understand this fairly obvious part, I wonder what else you missed). Again, not being mean. Some movies need to be watched 2-3 times to understand all the layers in the story. You might really enjoy watching it again.
