Opening sequence question (spoiler below)

Recently, I was reading a review of this film on DVDVerdict.com and the reviewer griped that an opening sequence spoiler prevents this film from realizing its full potential.

Apparently, the killer's face is revealed early on, thus, eliminating the possibility that Clint Eastwood's character could have been the baddie.

I haven't seen Tightrope, but I'm wondering if the revelation of the killer's identity ruined the rest of the film for others who have seen it.

Thanks.

By the way, here's the link to the review that I read:

Go back and look at that scene gain, and you'll hear Eastwood's voice saying the killer's lines. It was done to suggest the killer could be Eastwood's Wes Block -- then again, since it's clear the killer's face isn't Eastwood's, I don't know why they bothered with this.

If you watch the movie, the killer's face is lit so it makes it hard to see his face.
