disturbing movie

quite a disturbing movie with all the attacks on women by the killer

what really happened to the detective's daughter in the movie....she was found tied on the bed....very disturbing scene

reply

I dont think anything happened other than a stuggle, as is daughter is take to hospital, Block asks his partner "did he?!" to which his partner says "no she is fine" (something like that) Also, as the killer is still there the idea is that he has been caught too early.

great film

Outstanding movie, very unique.

I agree. The deviant sexuality and attacks on women were very disturbing indeed. This film explores certain aspects of male sexuality that are pretty hard to deal with head-on. I admire this film for its considerable audacity alone.

I didn't notice such a conversation. I think the older daughter of Eastwood was raped. That's why she was so numb at the hospital. Also, that's why Eastwood had such an angry fit when he got back home. If I'm wrong and it is indeed explained in the movie that the intruder didn't rape her, then this movie basically chickened out from the really horrible scenario.

Yes there was that conversation, she wasn't raped.

"then this movie basically chickened out from the really horrible scenario."

No, that would have been going for cheap thrills at the story's underlining theme's expense.

He positioned her precisely for Block to find her like that, because (the killer and the movie imply) that is how Block LIKES his women: quiet and in cuffs.

Get that? Raping her would make that point moot. Block is enraged BECAUSE he is forced to confront that fact (remember how he had sex with that hooker: face down and handcuffed).
