All of it scared me! The zombies breaking into the house sh*t me up something chronic! But the bit that got me the most (and still does today) is the zombie that peeps right into the camera at the end of the final credits.

Glad it's not just me that's scared of that zombie! Husband thinks it's hilarious and does a dodgy impression of it, which is quite funny.

I remember watching the video on VH1 when I was a little kid and the part that made me get out of the room was the transformation scene. That part scared the crap out of me as a kid.

I'm kind of a big deal. People know me.

reply

Oh god yeah. "GO AWAY!" It's horrible!

I decided to watch this video in its entirety the other day for the first time since 1983. My 8 year old was watching it and I watched it. Actually I can see why it would be scary if you saw it when you were young, (5 in my case) but I was really impressed with the werewolf part. It looked incredible, easpecially for the era. The Michael as a zombie was kind of uncomfortable to watch. He looked weird. I would describe him as the zombie as a guy who got his face beat in and was all swelled up. My idea of what I remembered from Thriller as a child was far scarier than what Thriller actually was. I guess I am "Fear of Thriller" cured. LOL

*Michael's werecat transformation
*Zombie that bleeds from the mouth
*MJ and the Zombies dancing
*Zombies terrifying MJ's girlfriend
*Michael's feliene eyes at the end
*Headless zombie
*End credits zombie

Those are the parts that terrfied me as a child/early teen.

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

When I first watched this video as a child (4 years old), the only part that really scared me was the werewolf transformation. I was fine with the rest of the video.

LOL!!!

My son was 5 when he first saw Thriller, and for him, Michael's yellow eyes at the end - that was the crowning scary moment. We ended up staying up all night with every single light in the house on and if I got 2 feet away from him, he started screaming about the eyes.

What both freaks me out and fascinates me is graceful zombies... LOL. That and Vincent Price's voice draws me in every time.

I was 3 years old when thriller came out and I remember the cat eyes when he first transformed scarying me to the point of running out of the room when it came on

Definitely the werewolf transformation. I was five or six when the video came out, and that scared the living sh/t out of me. The early stages, before he had completed the transformation (the "Go away" part especially), were particularly terrifying, but the full werewolf/cat monster scared me pretty badly too, especially after my older cousin tricked me into looking at a View-Master slide of it because he knew I was scared of it.

I like pretty, dark-haired women and breakfast food.

I'm still scared of this and I'm in my 30s! I think the scariest bit is basically from the zombies breaking into the house til the very end of the credits.

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

I'm in my mid-to-late twenties and I just saw this video for the first time in years! To me, the top four scariest moments are, in no particular order:

(Spoilers!)

*Michael screaming "GO AWAY!" with the eyes and teeth popping up in fill view of the camera.

*The zombies breaking into the house and reaching towards the girl right before she screams, with their faces getting closer to the camera.

*Michael going with his girlfriend at the end, and then suddenly turning around and revealing his werecat eyes towards the camera with an evil grin on his face while Vincent Price's laughter is heard.

*The very last zombie popping up and grimacing at the camera.

Probably this scared me more than either the werewolf transformation or the zombie break-in.

I've been having nightmares about this dude, so I confronted it for the first time in 20 years.

Oh god. Had a dream about this ^ ^ again for the first time in ages! Dreamed I was listening to Kiki Dee and then Thriller came on my music player. I tried to cut the end of the song off as it reminded me of the very last zombie, but as I went to press pause/stop, I heard a voice saying "It doesn't matter what you do, it'll not change a thing!!" and then the offending zombie appeared!

reply

I think I also need to add the part after the zombies have surrounded MJ and Ola and you first see him as a zombie! Yikes!
