Why do they call them 'terror movies'?

I don't get it, I've NEVER, in my entire life heard horror films called that. Now, was this a British release/creation, and is it a different term there, I'm truly curious?

My guess was that it was written that way just to match the title of the film; I think they also called them "Horror films" earlier in this movie.
