No idea why cagney did this film.. maybe he knew he had came to the end
of the road and just wanted to film the lights one last time after
ragtime brought the spark back..

he left the motion pictures in the early 60's and never looked back for
almost 20 years! that's a VERY long time to be away, considering he was
one of the most famous stars in Hollywood... he didn't appear in
anything in the 70s!

Im curious to know why Cagney didn't end it with a musical movie..

I guess he was to old to dance so he would prefer to not even do it.
