The Terrible Joe Moran

I have just read someone said this was the worst film they had ever seen, and that 'Ragtime' should have been Cagney's last film.
How I disagree. It was a heart warming film, of two good friends. I had seen 'City for Conquest' where the boxing scenes of the young Cagney came from. The death of Art Carney, made me watch it again. Surely someone loved it as I did.

I have been trying to find this movie for years, I am a huge cagney fan and have been since I was little. If anyone knows where I can find this film on dvd or vhs I would be very grateful.

I enjoyed this movie when I watched it on video in 1989. In New Zealand it was released on video as One Blow Too Many.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film as well, when I watched it, it brought a lump to my throat at the end.
The thing is - I've been trying for years to get this film, or watching for it to be repeated on TV here in UK, but no joy.
Does anyone know if it is available on DVD or Video?

reply

I love this film too! It always makes me cry and i wish it would be released on dvd,i only have 50 mins of the film on video when it was on TV years ago. It's a wonderful film! The emotions all the actors play is brilliant! Whoever said it was rubbish has no sentimentality at all.
