We know he isn't quite human but we don't know what he is, we've seen him punch through somebody, it's revealed he's a cyborg during the nightclub shootout with him being shoot several times, running through fire, seeing his POV and later cutting his arm open and removing his eye skin to reveal his metal eye.
Some might argue otherwise but even the strongest human couldn't punch a hole in someone's chest. So that would have made it obvious. I wasn't born til the mid 80s so I was spoiled of what he was because I didn't see Terminator 1 til after collecting a bunch of the Terminator 2 toys at the age of 6. My parents had me watch both Terminator 1 and 2 because of thinking untrue things about the Terminators from not having seen the movies.
"..even the strongest human couldn't punch a hole in someone's chest."
How do YOU know?
Also, if you make a 'spear' out of your fingers and use enough force, I'd say it's at least plausible - you might break your fingers, but it should be possible. Have you seen those Kung-Fu masters that can punch ridiculously hard? Have you seen people with 'iron knuckles' because they've been punchin metal?
I would say your assessment is questionable at best, and unexplained, unsubstantiated, useless opinion stated as some kind of fact without any references at worst.
First off it is pretty obvious the Terminator neither has long fingernails or brass knuckles. And frankly if you think I am wrong name me a real life event where a man punched a hole in someone's chest.
You see this a lot with trailers now, when they show too much it ruins the movie for people. Same as putting a deleted scene in a trailer or on the cover of a home release box.
I think my most recent least favorite trailer doing that is Morbious. It shows Michael Keaton's Vulture implying that Sony is setting their spin off movies in the MCU.
Arnold in that Mr Olympia era with the right lighting/dark night/electricity etc did look like a Nietzsche superman/frankensteinian nuclear nightmare. literally the stuff of nightmares. (and with arnold all the connotations of german/nazis and soviet fear stuff that tied into the Cold War/nuclear war themes) i guess Cameron saw all that when he was interviewing Arnold for the Reese role and quickly changed his idea of the terminator as an everyman infiltrator to arnold
The trailers were tricky if you really think about it. We see Arnold appear to be good and then bad at various points, leading the audience to believe there are 2 of them as in twins. Then you see the cop in odd moments like walking through a chaotic factory. You also see a cop bang his helmet into a helicopter before the face falls off to reveal silver stuff. You also see the cop struggling with the Terminator in other confusing scenes so we as the viewer dont really know what's going on. Not to mention a silver figure popping up from time to time. Nothing is clear until we see the movie.
