Rick Rossovich.....got a good tackle in on that Terminator!

He actually got the T-800 up off his feet and drove him back for a few seconds. Not bad.

I think that was a mistake in editing - a moment that was supposed to be cut sooner. I don't think the Terminator would be able to be physically driven back by one person.

Yet it happened so you can’t make a good argument against it...

Naw, what you said is true. I doubt someone even larger than the Terminator (human of course) could “realistically” take down a machine like that.

reply

well , that machine still has to balance on two feet , so if a 200lb guy unexpectedly plows in , it could get off balance like anyone else.

reply

Drac, if it happened as part of an editing mistake or blooper then it didn't really happen in the film's fictional universe.

But for arguments sake in regards to Mark's point above, I don't think one human could tackle that Terminator's legs - made of a solid metal endoskeleton and layered by Arnie's muscle.

reply

well it depends on the T800s stance at the time - basically if he was ready to receive a tackle , or a bit surprised as i'd imagine it hadnt happened before.

what I mean is if you got a suit of armour stood up straight , filled it with concrete , even though size and weight roughly the same .. I reckon I could knock it over due to narrow footprint and high centre of gravity

“Don’t make me bust you up, man!” Rick Rossovich is art trovee. I loved him in this, as The Terminator tossed his muscular ass around the room like a used Tampon, and in the Steve Martin rewrite of Cyrano de Bergerac, Roxanne. He’s been in other, more minor films and DTV stuff, but I’ve always enjoyed him as a personality.

The actress playing his girlfriend in The Terminator, Bess La Mota, was actually an aerobics instructor. And the in Terminator
2, Arnie whipped Sarah Conner’s ass into SHAPE. Fitness: pass it on. It’s a way of life.
