Well, an opinion.......

Jurel takes a girl to get an abortion without the knowledge of the parents??? Would you take a kid to get any surgical procedure without the knowledge of the parents, especially a selective procedure? I don't think so. He deserved to get fired.

And the gym teacher should be in prison for the rest of his life, not transferred to another school. Thats the same idiocy that got the Catholic church in trouble all those years. The girls parents should have sued the school system for all they could get.

With that being said, I can tell you it was alot of fun working on this movie. I was an extra in the film. And most people involved, even the stars were very nice. Judd Hirsch was really cool to talk to in between takes. And many thanks go out to Richard Mulligan. He would come down to the cafeteria when he wasn't shooting and just arbitrarily start entertaining all us extras. A few of us referred to him as plastic man. He could become any character he wanted to. For a bunch of high school kids who thought we knew everything, later in life you realize how really special he was. I was very sad to hear of his passing.

Thanks

Well, at first in the scene you see Alex doesn't want to do it. He offers her other choices but then decides to take her after Eddie says he will. Maybe he felt back to his old days when he would teach kids to stand up for what they believed in. And yes, Troy should've been put in jail, but the whole school was covering up everything, from that to paying off Calvin so they wouldn't have publicity. That was why Lisa at the end tells Alex that they are bluffing about him having to resign. If he fights it, they wouldn't risk the publicity.

ITA agree with you on the first two points.

Being a retired teacher with 37 years experience, I am sorry to state that too many of the characters in this film were very realistic. (I am talking particularly about "Ditto" and the gym teacher.)

And finally, it is great to hear how approachable the "stars" of this film were. Richard Mulligan, in my opinion, is so very underrated. ( The movie "SOB" is one of my favorites.) I have always appreciated the work of Judd Hirsch (from "Taxi" to "Independence Day.")

Thank you for sharing your memories.
