Apple Bomb
Am I the only one who thinks the original cover of the apple that is like a bomb is cool? I think it is a cool cover.

TOTALLY COOL....WHICH "BOSTON PUBLIC" STOLE FOR ITS AD CAMPAIGN IN 2000...EVEN THOUGH I LOVE BOSTON PUBLIC....ANYONE KNOW ANY OTHER TEACHER THEMED MOVIES...IM IN A DESPERATE SEARCH....
shareThe Principal http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093780/ is a good teacher movie from what i remember. I haven't seen it in a while. Worth checking out if you haven't seen it.
shareCan't go far wrong with CLASS OF 1984.
'I'm a by God constitutional anarchist'
Warren Oates.
this may be too late to help but for a classic try sidney p's To Sir With Love, and Morgan Freeman made one a couple of years back but the name escapes me. it was based on a true story.
i am....
(Not)Louder Than Concorde...
Loved the apple/fuse cover.
A few other good teacher movies:
* Stand and Deliver
* Lean on Me is the Morgan Freeman one (he's the principal)
Yikes--two recommendations (The Principal and Lean on Me) for films about principals who beat the crap out of their students. To Sir, With Love is the movie that made me want to be a teacher. Goodbye, Mr. Chips is a good one, too.
shareRemind me when Joe Clark (Morgan Freeman) beats "the crap" out of any student in "Lean on Me"....
shareJoe Clark may not have beat the crap out of a student in "Lean On ME", but I dislike the character INTENSELY! He had a music teacher who evidently was doing her job well; she was preparing her choir for state festival, and they sounded good, and Clark came in and told the teacher to stop and do music that related to the kids, that is, CRAP. It wiould have been different if the music program was failing and the students not participating or performing poorly, but this was not the case. And, sure enough, a few scenes later the music teacher is gone and the students singing unchalenging pop music that requires little skill or dedication.
I understand that the real-life Joe Clark was eventually fired for this sort of riding rough-shod over his teachers.

Other teacher films:
Dangerous Minds
Music of the Heart
Goodbye, Mr. Chips
Mr. Holland's Opus
Blackboard Jungle
You might try the old chestnut, "Up The Down Staircase," which has a few good scenes in it, especially the opening when all the school bells are ringing and the intercom is spurting, "Please ignore the bells! Please ignore the bells!"
Kenneth Rorie
Dangerous Minds with Michelle Phiffer is pretty good, and the latest is Freedom Writiers. Blackboard Jungle is an old one that I have heard of but haven't seen. The list is neither very long nor extensive.
shareHigh School High! Blackboard Jungle, which is quite similar to Teachers.
This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.
While the movie Teachers may not have left much of an impression on our popular culture (hell, the .38 Special title track has had a longer shelf life), I do think its poster is one of the more iconic of the era.
Movie posters are a dying art form. These days it tends to just be badly Photo-shopped close-ups of the cast.

A journey into the realm of the obscure: http://saturdayshowcase.blogspot.com/
"Dead Poets Society" is another good one with a decent poster.
"I will not go down in history as the greatest mass-murderer since Adolf Hitler!" - Merkin Muffley
PS - I also liked the cover with the apple bomb! That's why I've kept my vinyl LP of the soundtrack!!
shareI also like the apple bomb and still have my vinyl soundtrack LP, but it's not quite as amusing in the post-Columbine world, is it?
Nonetheless, that's a killer .38 Special song, whether you like it for music or irony!
When I was in High School in the 80's a couple of teachers had the Apple Bomb poster up in their classrooms. These days I don't think there's any way a teacher could put that up in a classroom - parents would get all upset about it.
shareOne of my favorite movie covers of all time. There used to be a time when they came up with simple, but extremely effective covers. Now all they seem to care about is marketing the stars.
Rocky VI must happen! Sean Penn said so!
If anyone has a high-quality, high resolution scan of that apple bomb soundtrack cover I am looking to add it to my iTunes as cover art for the 38 Special song I have on there. I can't find a good quality scan anywhere, believe it or not!
shareI finally got the Apple Bomb VhS for this movie. IT was a little expensive but the tape plays well and the cover is awesome. Very cool!
shareDo a search on Amazon.com for the CD Soundtrack; they have the image posted on there.
shareI loved it. The picture is on the sleeve of the 45 "Understanding" by Bob Seger if anyone can get their hands on that! That was the song when the credits ran. On of the best Seger songs ever!!!
