Those Were Supposed To Be Tough Kids?

I liked the movie, but their casting of supposedly rugged, inner-city, street kids was laughable at best. Even the black kids looked soft! And Ralph Macchio as a tough guy?

Try West Side Story if you want to laugh at the singing and dancing gangstas of the 50s, boy. Although "hoods" or JDs would have been the words used to describe them.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

Look at Crispin Glover as his friend Danny. That guy looks tough, as well as Pallard's gang. Macchio was also a tough kid in Up the Academy, which Mad Magazine produced.

Crispin Glover as Danny Reese looked crazy. I would not have messed with him.

Right? I felt sorry for Glover's character but, he was dangerous too.

Well it was columbus Ohio... Not NYC. I think the majority of the kids shown wete not supposed to be Homicidal maniacs but poor kids ignored by parents and the system.
