Tank Remake?

One thing I did not get to see in the original that I would love to see in a remake would be the corrupt sheriff being brought to justice. In the original he is humiliated but what happens to him after that is left up in the air. I do not think proof of his corruption was available so the kid gets off but the sheriff goes right back to being a corrupt southern sheriff or gets fired.

But what I want to see is something akin to the final scene of the Tom Sellick movie AN INNOCENT MAN. I want to see the corrupt sheriff in prison and a real prison not a country club one for rich people, and with no special protection facing a bunch of inmates who intend to rape him on a daily basis.
