'Surf II' screening in LA, 4/17/2009

A rare 35mm print of 'Surf II' will be given an exclusive one-day (25th anniversary!) screening at Los Angeles' New Beverly Theatre at 7:30 PM on April 17, 2009, presented by the Alamo Drafthouse.

As per usual with the New Beverly, there's bound to be a celebrity guest or two making an appearance. I'm crossing my fingers for Eric Stoltz!

The film is first on a double-bill with Al Adamson's 'Carnival Magic' (1981); all double features are just $7, with senior/student/child discounts.

Slated to appear TONIGHT: stars EDDIE DEEZEN and JIM GREENLEAF ("Fat Boy #2"), writer/director RANDALL M. BADAT, producer GEORGE BRAUNSTEIN and assistant director D. SCOTT EASTON.

Truly the most tubular cinema event of the year.

Actually, I do. I filmed the Q&A session they had with Eddie Deezen, Randall Badat, producer George Braunstein and first A.D. Scott Easton:

Picture's a bit dark, but you can hear everything they're saying.
