Just noticed something about the poster for this...

The couple on the cover/poster are NOT the actors who star in this film! I'm guessing the bubbles are meant to obscure their faces. I can't say I've seen that before.

I've never heard of this movie but I have seen something similar done before with a couple movies. One was called Blood Shack, a horror movie from 1971. The DVD art features an Alice Cooper looking gentleman holding a machete. Nothing resembling this person appears in the film.

Another where I've seen this is with the 1974 film The Wrestler. The cover art of the dvd release features Ed Asner and some generic looking wrestler. Ed Asner appears in the movie while the other guy seems to be some model they used for the cover.

Of course I'm talking only about dvd cover art that was released decades after the films were actually made. Do you know whether the poster for Stuck on You was the one used during it's original release?

I know for sure it was the VHS cover, so probably. It's not like these actors are big names,so I don't understand how their schedule wouldn't allow time to shoot a cover, lol. As far as this movie goes, think a B version of History of the World.

Now I'm wondering about the posters of other sex comedies of the 80's...maybe we've been lied to our whole lives..

reply

I googled "80s B movie posters" and I was really surprised to find the vast majority of them are artist renditions, and not actually photos. They are awesome, and remind me if old Atari games box covers, in that they look a hell of a lot more interesting than they actually we're,lol.

I'm pretty sure they were trying to sell some tickets with that stand-in's divinely shaped buttocks.

The lead girl is pretty hot. I don't think her ass was this nice, but she's pretty cute.

reply

The girl on the cover of the Valley Girl poster isn’t the same one as the girl in the actual movie.

reply

That is really odd. Do you think they recast her, or since it's not a photo, maybe just a shitty artist. It doesn't seem that way, because she looks nothing like her.

reply

Lead actress Deborah Foreman wanted extra pay to be on the cover which the studio didn't want to pay. So they used Randy's Ex in the movie.

Never noticed the actors. Was always drawn to the font chosen for the title.
