In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Dr. Carol Marcus recorded the briefing for the Genesis Device. However, the recording Valkris delivers to Kruge is of Captain Kirk, reciting nearly the same lines over exactly the same footage. Why was it necessary to re-record this?

Lol. Exactly. Not that it would have been much but they would have had to pay the actress for her part. On top of that people would be wondering more why she wasn't in the film. Your answer there again would be money.
