How things have changed ... for the better!

This was made in 1984 and I'm shocked by the approach of this. Was this really the norm in my lifetime?! Basically it was the mum's fault for getting a part time job. He says sorry so it's fine for her to return home and then because he sang baby songs to her lovingly, from her expression, basically forgives him.
