I have this as 'The Inside Man' not Slagskampen? Dennis Hopper, RIP:

By the time anyone sees this, I'm sure Mr. Hopper will have passed, which means his stock will go up on all the movies he ever did, especially the hard to find/oop/rare performances. I have some here (like The Inside Man), if anyone is interested:

Woah, fancy meeting you here! I have this also. Think I paid a buck for it at a used record store. This is the last film I'll be watching in my Dennis Hopper retrospective.

Yeah, I'll have to finally watch this one soon; so you're having a Hopper marathon, huh? That's a pretty cool thing to do! Did you see how many items I've listed above? Frickin' 820 things!!!

You bet I am. This the last film in my festival of all the Dennis Hopper films in my collection I haven't watched yet. So far it's been, in order of quality: "Easy Rider," "Paris Trout," "Apocalyse Now," "River's Edge" and "Hoosiers." What a man, what a career!

Amazing that you have 820 titles for sale. I had to do a search for this title because I couldn't find it scrolling the pages. Do you have them all organized so you can find them, and once they sell you delete them from the page? Someday I need to do that -- just to find good homes for the movies I don't plan to watch again. But I'd probably have seller's remorse later.

Oh, I already feel a sense of dread that Dennis is no longer going to be making movies. I feel like we really lost another huge icon (well, we did!), but it just hasn't really hit any of us yet. I just want to go back to his other roles and I'd say you picked some great ones; I love Apocolypse Now, I love Rivers Edge (especially his perfoemance in it), and even though I dislike a lot of 'basketball/college' movies, I'd see Hoosiers, just to see him in the role.
Don't forget "Blue Velvet", which I;'m sure you've seen! And I have seen The Last Movie (or is it the Last Picture?), from 1971, and it was trippy, and worth owning. Sadly, I sold mine! :(
So yes, I DO get sellers remorse on some of my old jewels. As you sell your items, amazon takes them off your page for you, and call them "sold out", meaning, for YOUR store, not on their website; so you can either let it be or buy and list another copy of said video/dvd. It is a lot of fun, being in sales, but it's not just selling, there's a lot of searching, appraising, grunt work, materials/s & h, writing addresses out & standing in line at the post office (which sucks beyond all reason), but other than thatm, it;'s still kind of worth the hassle. Not only am I finding rare items for people who wanna re-live their memories of them, I am good at getting it to them with very little cost to the buyer!:)

Oh yes, I have "Blue Velvet." It's my favorite film of Dennis' and my favorite film of the '80s. I was just listing the unwatched films in my collection that I finally got around to after Dennis died. And many of these like "River's Edge" I had already seen on cable or whatever, but haven't watched the copy I bought. He is amazing in "River's Edge" -- that bit with the blow-up doll was a hint of how far he's willing to go for a role. I normally hate the feel-good sports films too, but "Hoosiers" wasn't bad -- but it could have used less basketball and more Shooter!

Wow, you got rid of "The Last Movie"? I'd have seller's remorse if I got rid of that too. I'm quite sure I've never seen it, don't think I've seen it in the sale or rental racks either because I would have scooped it up. Maybe his passing with spur a DVD release of that finally.

Have you seen "Tracks," where he's carrying his Vietnam vet's body home on the train? That's a harrowing film.

Yes, there's no one to take his place, and no one even comes close these days. A lot of it with Dennis, frankly, was drug-related and the fact that he was a product of a very brave experimental era, but regardless, the characters he created were simply mesmerizing and memorable, often in their harshness. Not the type of stuff the studio execs would green-light these days.

The problem with my movie collection is my living space isn't that large. I already have a huge collection of CDs and LPs, neatly organized, and the movies have just mushroomed over the past few years. I have no way to organize them, so I try to watch them, vote on them, then put them in my storage. I would love it if there were a community lending library or something to share the wealth with local videophiles. It's not like I need to hang on to this, but I'm also reluctant to give it away for good. Most of our libraries here don't even carry VHS anymore, and those that do are phasing it out.

Oh, and looking at Dennis' filmography, I realize I have more in my collection that I need to watch:
"My Science Project"
"The Prophet's Game"
"Meet the Deedles"
"Mad Dog Morgan"
"Rumblefish"
"Giant"
"Rebel Without a Cause"

So it looks like my Dennis film festival will have to be extended by a few days. What a prolific man, regardless of what was going on in his life!

Yes, and it's just totally random, sort of like my collection. A lot of times I have no idea what to watch next, but when someone dies I focus on them. Sad that it takes their death to give me focus, though.

Say, have you seen Dennis in "Out of the Blue"? That's a terrific indie rock film from the early '80s, before his comeback. He directed and starred it in. Great music, too.
