The Most Offensive Film Ever Made?

If its not Sixteen Candles, what is?

Personally, I love this movie. The outrage it continues to inspire is the gift that keeps on giving. There are people who actually want it banned.

Well done Mr. Hughes.

It's less about people having thinner skin, and more about people actually giving a damn about other ethnic groups.

It's called "Get a Life"! Nowadays people look for anything to get attention. Or to get money. And these so-called political correctness Jerk offs are nothing but SCUMBAGS! No one forced anyone to take the role in any movie. Gette could have turned down the part, but he didn't. And now all of a sudden 30 years later , someone is offended? Really?

reply

The short answer would be no.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

reply

Some people need more of an explanation Because they have no common sense!

reply

Sense is no longer common. What IS common is nonsense. That is why I call what was once called “common sense,” “good sense.”

That, plus people suck.

But not well. Too much teeth.

reply

No, there are more offensive movies made than this. Definitely some things about Sixteen Candles that haven't aged particularly well, but there are worse offenders.

It's ironic that Siskel & Ebert jumped on "Porky's" for being misogynistic, but that aspect is rather tame compared to movies like this and Revenge of the Nerds (both of which they liked).

reply

How is it ironic? Were you looking for a different word?

reply

Spelling, much?

Not that, you know, literacy and self-respect matter, or anything.

reply

Yeah, the pansies that are being raised today, I can see that....the way people are trained today that they must be offended and outraged at every little crude joke.

As someone who was a teen when this film was out......it is hilarious.

Did you use to wear a braces headpiece? Tough.
Are you Asian? Tough.
Were you a geek in school? Tough.
Are you a grandparent? Tough.
Are you a woman? Tough.

The film was funny. No one really cares about all you Social Justice Freaks that believe there are 100 taboo things no one can dare tease about.

People with no sense of humor are worst. Wow, these people are boring and uptight pricks.

Sorry, I misread your post as “upright pricks,” which these assholes could not manage, even with a humjob from a porn queen (or king, depending . . .).

As for the OP: pretty sure that any real snuff film ever made is ‘way more offensive than a John Hiughes teen sex comedy.

reply

While I get your point, the venom with which you deliver it makes me wonder if you have some extreme bias toward humor against minorities. Does it bother you that we discourage the use of the word "retard" these days? Should boys just be boys and grab women without consent?
Most people I know have a sense of humor and aren't social justice freaks, but they do have perspective and respect for other people.

reply

I'm only offended by people who are offended by this film.
