In the film, it was revealed that Sheena's birth name was Janet. I know that Sheena was around long before the 1984 movie came out, she has appeared in comic books and other media since before the 50s. Was her birth name originally Janet and is that canon or was that something that was just used for this movie?
shareThat was strictly an invention of the movie. There's never really been a "canon" version of Sheena's origin in all the different versions. The traditional comics version is that her father was an explorer named Cardwell Rivington and after he was killed she was brought up by a shaman (they never mentioned her birth name). The Irish McCalla series never had any mention of an origin/backstory.

I think sheena is a Public Domain Character.
