Anyone able to solve the mystery of who played the musclebound deputy? The role is unlisted on this and any other site I can find, and yet he had a speaking role so you would think he was listed in the credits.

shareHe was a police officer for the Virginia Gardens Police Department (it's a small city adjacent to the Miami International Airport). I don't remember his name but met him a few times at the local 7-11 where he would hang out and shoot the breeze with most everyone. Nice guy, definitely roided up, this was around the early 90's....I moved away from Virginia Gardens and never saw Cortez again but I did see Devil Fish a few years after and recognized him right away ! He may have worked for other Miami law enforcement, but definitely Virginia Gardens PD sometime in the early 90's for a brief while.

You're looking for a cop, either retired or still may be active duty since he would probably be in his mid-forties or around that age by now. And I do remember he was part-time for Virginia Gardens PD, worked a lot of late night shifts.
shareMid 40s? Yeah, I think your math is wrong. Devil fish was made 30 years ago. That Cortez guy looked like he was in his early to mid 30s, so the guy would be 60+ years old now. So, I'd say he's probably retired. Or dead.
